Ground instruction and pre/post briefings are held in a classroom equipped with an overhead projector, whiteboards, TV/VCR combination, a host of diagrams, pictures, and learning devices. Our instructors have all the tools to help you learn quickly and thoroughly.
Air Fleet provides a full weather briefing area. Complete with charts and airport facility directories, Air Fleet also has a DUATS (Direct User Access Terminal System) interface which provides direct graphic and text weather descriptions. WSI Pilot Brief is also available for those wanting other weather products. A nearby phone connects the student directly to Flight Service to obtain up-to-the-minute weather briefings from government employees.
With our Cessna partnership, we also offer state-of-the Computer Based Instruction (CBI). The full-motion, interactive CD-ROMs provide students with training unlike any textbook. The CD-ROMs can be used on your personal computer at your leisure or you may use our computer lab. Your progress is also tracked by computer so you can keep track of all your accomplishments. The computer can be used to practice for the computerized tests the FAA uses as part of your pilot examination.
We are proud to offer a state-of-the-art Frasca Flight Training Device. Whether you’re starting an instrument rating or simply want to practice some emergencies that one just wouldn’t want to practice in a real plane, our simulator offers a practical and economical choice. You can practice in a variety of simulated weather conditions or try flying airport approaches from across the world. Our simulator, which is FAA-approved, can also be used as part of your Part 141 and FAR Part 61 training curriculum. Our Simulator is also approved for maintain your Instrument Currency by making 6 instrument approaches every 6 months.
