Pilot Certificate Courses
Our flight training programs support pilots at every level, from newcomers to those pursuing professional qualifications. At our school you’ll develop the skills and confidence to take your aviation journey further.
Private Pilot Certificate
The Private Pilot Certificate is the foundation for anyone pursuing aviation, whether your goal is recreational flying or beginning a career as a professional pilot. Earning this certificate allows you to act as pilot in command of an aircraft and carry passengers for personal, non-commercial purposes.
To earn a Private Pilot Certificate, applicants must be at least 17 years old and complete a minimum of 35 hours of flight training under Part 141 regulations. Students training under Part 61 regulations must complete at least 40 hours of flight time. Although the minimum training requirements are lower, the average student completes approximately 65 hours of flight training before taking the FAA practical test.
Commercial Pilot Certificate
A Commercial Pilot Certificate is an essential step for pilots pursuing a career in professional aviation. This certificate allows pilots to fly for compensation or hire and is required for professional flying positions.
To qualify for a Commercial Pilot Certificate, applicants must be at least 18 years old, and possess a valid FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate. In addition, applicants must complete a minimum of 190 flight hours through an FAA-approved Part 141 flight school or 250 flight hours under Part 61 regulations. Candidates must also successfully pass the FAA Commercial Pilot Knowledge Test and the required practical test.
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
The Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate is the highest level of pilot certification issued by the FAA and is required to serve as a pilot in command for most airline operations. In addition to airline employment, the ATP Certificate qualifies pilots for a variety of advanced commercial and air carrier operations.
To earn an ATP Certificate, applicants must complete a minimum of 1,500 hours of flight experience, satisfy all applicable FAA eligibility requirements, and successfully pass the FAA Airline Transport Pilot Knowledge Test and the required practical test.
Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate
A Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate allows pilots to train and mentor the next generation of aviators. With this certificate, instructors may provide flight training for students pursuing Private and Commercial Pilot Certificates. Instructors may also earn additional instructor ratings, including the Certified Flight Instructor–Instrument (CFII) rating, which authorizes instrument flight instruction, and the Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) rating, which authorizes instruction in multi-engine aircraft.
